This week Javier Perianes performs Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G major in his return to Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse under the baton of Josep Pons on 10 January at Toulouse’s Halle Aux Grains and 11 January at Le Parvis de Tarbes.
This will be the world premiere of the second volume of the new Ravel Edition, which is dedicated to the Piano Concerto. The revised edition is based on the orchestral manuscript, scores of Marguerite Long, sketches of the reduction for two pianos and scores of Ravel’s contemporaries.
