On 23 February Javier Perianes gives the world premiere of Jimmy López Bellido’s new Piano Concerto, “Ephemerae”, with Klaus Mäkelä and the London Philharmonic Orchestra in the Royal Festival Hall, London. Co-commissioned by the LPO, Oslo-Filharmonien, Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo and Philadelphia Orchestra, the piece is dedicated to Perianes, and is inspired by the fleeting yet lasting sensations experienced through fragrance and perfume, capturing light and subtle tones through to heavier, darker notes.

The next performances take place in São Paulo on 24, 25 and 26 March with conductor Alexander Shelley.

*Unfortunately Klaus Mäkelä was unwell and not able to conduct the concert. Jonathan Berman kindly stepped in at the last minute.
